Project DESCRIPTION
CarConcierge is a telematics application and templated cloud solution that provides concierge-level service between auto repair shops and customers. In real time, your car’s diagnostic information is transferred from your vehicle to your connected mobile application. This information is processed, and the app notifies you of any maintenance issues, conveying the severity of the problem.
Since the CarConcierge application is connected to your calendar and your preferred repair shop, it can recommend an appointment day and time based off your calendar’s and the repair shop’s calendar’s availability. CarConcierge seeks to simplify the maintenance and repair process and paperwork by automating and digitizing car ownership.

Our Challenge
Increasingly companies are creating digital dongles that connect to your car and provide real-time feedback for various purposes. We believe an opportunity exists to enable concierge level service between auto repair shops of all sizes and their customers with a templated cloud solution. #CarConcierge is a car dongle and connected mobile app that will simplify the maintenance & repair process and paperwork involved by automating, reminding and digitizing car ownership. In real time, diagnostic information is processed by the App, and notifications suggest when an appointment needs to be made by the user. Since it’s connected to your calendar and your preferred repair shop, it can recommend an appointment based off of user’s availability as well as the auto shop’s availability. On the repair facility’s side, a full maintenance history would be available on an iPad and could even be referenced by the mechanic at the lift. Other notable functions include:

Project Overview
When we started this project, my design inspiration was my wife and users like her that disliked the maintenance and repair shop experience. To solve this problem, our team approach was to envision a platform that embodied an excellent user experience for the customers and to build a better service experience. My team and I started with contextual inquiries to get a better understanding of users and the problem. Once we completed the contextual inquires, we developed personas to help with the narrative and build a relationship with product and users. I was then given the task to sketch the concept and sitemaps for this project by my team. I started drawing the idea before I began to the sitemaps because I wanted to get a better idea of the whole experience with the product on paper. After I completed the sketches, I worked on the sitemaps and style guide ideas. I shared and discussed the idea for a style guide and branding for the product, and they agreed. We then decided to delegate the work for branding and wireframes. I was given the task to work on the repair shop wireframe for the tablet and to collaborate with my teammate Greg on the branding of the product. After we completed the branding and prototypes, we decided to do a usability evaluation and iteration for the product. One of my task for this project was to brainstorm the idea and concept by sketching. When I started drawing the concept idea, I carefully thought about the users. I wanted to make the process as simple as possible for them. I wanted them to be able to navigate the app without any frustrations.
Our Branding process
